Join us on the Sunday evening of Wowzers Festival from 6 – 8pm for a line up of spoken word, comedy and music from performers including Miri and Lara A King

Lara A King:
“It’s like Ellen DeGeneres meets k.d lang and they somehow create a love child with John Hegley. Even though they’re lesbians. Not John Hegley of course. He’s a man.”

Winner of numerous awards and boasting some of the most glorious reviews we’ve read in a while, we are in no doubt that under her watchful eye as compere and comedienne our Sunday evening programme will delight and amuse!

Might want to go to the bathroom first, though, we’ve been warned that “she sings like an angel and will make you laugh until wee comes out.”!

Miri is a London based singer-songwriter who has tailored her unique vocals & inspiring songwriting style to create a genuine and distinctive performance persona.

The musical skill which seems so effortless today is the result of more than a decade’s labour of love in music making and performance which began with Miri creating tracks for a student film project at the age of 16. Since then her musical journey has taken her on an incredible journey, from playing a community outreach gig in a South African Township to playing the chicest venues and events around London including The Official Bob Marley Birthday Celebration at The 100 Club, a Levi’s fundraiser in support of the charity Youth At Risk and Natty Presents Vibes & Pressure at Passing Clouds.

Growing an increasing following Miri continues to gain recognition for her talents. Her track Broken City has received radio airplay on BBC London as part of BBC Introducing and has now reached the big screen with the inclusion of the track with two others (Red and Blue Skies) in the new British film starring Skins actress Lily Loveless, Fear of Water.
